The Miserable Persistence of Winter

Yesterday afternoon was cloudy

then a horrible rainstorm ripped the petals off the tulips and beat down the daffodils.

Overnight it snowed.

The purple ectoplasm is a red coleus indoors.

When I ventured out with the dog this morning, it was 32'F. The pansies were surrounded by ice granules.

Breakfast was baked oatmeal with almonds.

The tulips look cheery at least.

At 11am it is 40'f - but bright....

Gosh, just looked at my Blogger dashboard to discover this is post #900....

  1. You have had such a long hard winter on the East coast of the US. In contrast ours in UK has been very wet and mild but at least we now have spring thank goodness. Surely it cant be too long before your weather dramatically improves! I hope so anyway.

  3. I thought I was reading fiction for a second Elizabeth! More snow! who can believe it. I love the blossom trees and street scenes, and 900 posts! You'll have to throw a blog-party for the 1000th.
